Enhance the performance and tuning capabilities of the Hachi by incorporating a rear axle with adjustable toe angle. This new rear axle enables the adjustment of the toe angle of the rear wheels, and it also supports active toe functionality. Additionally, this upgrade kit includes extra rear dampers to accommodate the new dual damper setup.

The grip of the Hachi can be enhanced by incorporating the new dual rear damper design. Instead of a single TPU/PEBA damper on the rear axle, the updated rear damper mount and damper bracket enable the installation of two rear dampers. This modification ensures that the weight of the chassis is evenly distributed across each rear wheel, thereby increasing both exit speed and forward speed. Alternatively, the original damper can still be installed in the middle if additional damping or weight support is required.

This upgrade kit includes a new rear axle that allows for adjustable toe angles. The included new lower damper bracket provides mounting points for a turnbuckle that attaches to the tab on the rear wheel hub. It’s recommended to use a setup station to precisely set the toe angle. Alternatively, you can place a ruler flat against the wheel and make adjustments to visualize the toe changes.

You can also implement active rear toe functionality by relocating the turnbuckle to be positioned behind the axle and attaching it to the upper damper mount. The kit includes two 10mm standoffs that can be installed into the upper damper mount, pointing downward. The turnbuckle can then be attached to the bottom of the standoff and subsequently to the rearward hub tab. To ensure proper installation, the dual dampers will need to be pushed out using the included 5mm spacers. Similar to the fixed rear tow setup, it’s recommended to use a setup station to set the initial toe position. As the chassis weight shifts from side to side, the rear axle toe will also shift in tandem with the chassis. Consequently, the outside wheel will experience an increase in toe-in, while the inside wheel will experience an increase in toe-out. For a visual demonstration, refer to the video provided below.

The Hachi Rear Toe kit includes a new driveshaft stabilizer specifically designed for the rear toe axle. For installation instructions, refer to the Hachi Driveshaft Stabilizer page. The rear toe axle has a significantly larger offset, necessitating a matching stabilizer. If reversing the motor rotation direction is required for compatibility with the new rear toe axle, and your ESC doesn’t support the motor direction reversal, you can flip the ring gear in the rear axle (which involves full disassembly). However, this modification will render the included rear toe axle driveshaft stabilizer ineffective. In such cases, reach out to support@bingorcdesigns.com for a replacement driveshaft stabilizer with an adjusted offset.
