The Hachi Driveshaft Stabilizer is an upgrade to the stock Hachi chassis that enhances the smoothness and stability of the drivetrain, particularly at higher RPMs when using ESC turbo mode. The stabilizer employs a ball bearing mechanism supported by a 3D-printed PEBA bracket. This bracket is suspended between two of the rear upper deck standoffs and effectively absorbs vibrations from the driveshaft. Consequently, the stabilizer ensures a remarkably smooth and stable driveshaft throughout the entire RPM range, including the exceptionally high ESC turbo RPMs.

Start by removing the front set of 40mm upper deck stays.

Remove all 4 screws holding the two front upper deck stays, then remove the two 40mm standoffs.

Remove the driveshaft pin that connects the back part of the driveshaft to the rear axle.

Complete remove the back part of the driveshaft the chassis.

IMPORTANT Examine the driveshaft stabilizer and note that there is a long side and a short side. The short side should align with the offset of the input drive on rear axle.

Slide the stabilizer onto the driveshaft. It shouldn't bind on the white plastic bushing. The bushing is lightly press fit into the 12x18x4 ball bearing, with the bearing sitting approximately in the middle of the bushing. The flange on the bushing should not be in contact with the PEBA bracket.

Reattach the back driveshaft to the front driveshaft, and then attach it to the rear axle. Reinstall the driveshaft pin. Note the PEBA bracket can be installed with the flat side up or down. It is only important that the short and long side line up with the rear axle offset.

Install the 40mm standoffs last. Reinstall the 4 mounting screws. The driveshaft stabilizer should move easily on the standoffs. The bracket holes are oversized by design, allowing the bracket to shift and move as needed to align with the driveshaft.

The driveshaft stabilizer bracket will effectively self adjust to sit properly on the driveshaft. Once you startup the ESC and spin up the RPMs, the bracket will settle into the correct position.
Stock Hachi without driveshaft stabilizer (heavily worn driveshaft)
With the Hachi Driveshaft Stabilizer installed, the vibrations on the drivetrain are dramatically reduced.
